Thanksgiving

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

We had a very busy but enjoyable Thanksgiving weekend. Thanksgiving day, we gathered at Gei’s house for lunch. Attendees included Tom, Clayton, William, Nora, Tom’s cousin Monica, her husband Justin, their baby Noli, Uncle Rod, Aunt Victoria, Cousins Madelyn, Collin, Regan, Uncle Carl, Grampy, Grammy, and of course Gei. Thats 3 infants, 2 3-year-olds, and a 6-year-old and a total of 16 people.

The new Brooks blog

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Everybody has a blog now, so the Brooks must as well. I have been nagging Tom for some time to create a blog format on our site and finally he did. This reinforces my theory that despite its bad rep nagging is very effective.

It has been a busy fall with the birth of little Nora and William starting preschool. Both are doing well and William loves being a big brother. Nora went for her two month appointment yesterday and now weighs 9lbs 8 oz (almost back to her 9lb 9 oz birth weight!). Although she is gaining very slowly, she is healthy and happy and already grown 1.75 inches (now measuring 22 ¾”). How strange if Tom and I have a tall child. And poor William.

William is very excited about everything happening this time of year, looking forward to his cousins visiting Thanksgiving and already waiting for Santa Claus. He is concerned, however, if Santa’s suit will get dirty coming down the chimney. Actually, I agree with him that we need to get the chimney cleaned, but my nagging is having little effect because Tom refuses to believe that chimney sweeps exist.

Oh well, you win some and you lose some.
